Description
The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to help ensure the vitality and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing full-time research-based master's and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education. The GRFP provides three years of support for the graduate education of individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant research achievements in STEM or STEM education. NSF especially encourages women, members of underrepresented minority groups, persons with disabilities, veterans, and undergraduate seniors to apply.

The Unites States Air Force is looking to recruit current high school and college students as cadets in the ROTC. In exchange for service, various levels of scholarships are available.
The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women studying community college, baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. In 2018, SWE awarded approximately 238 new and renewed scholarships valued at over $830,000.
These scholarships are intended for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering,or mathematics (STEM) programs who are either lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or an active ally of the LGBTQ+ community. The scholarships are designed to promote academic excellence and increased visibility of talented LGBTQ+ students in STEM careers.
Each year MTS offers significant scholarships to college graduate, college undergraduate and senior high school students accepted into full-time marine-related programs with focus in marine technology, marine engineering and/or marine science. Among the eligibility criteria for an MTS scholarship is the requirement that the applicant must be an MTS member. Student Membership for full-time college students, undergraduate and graduate, and high school seniors is only $25.00 US per year. As well, an applicant must be either full-time college student currently enrolled in either a 2-year or 4-year academic program, or a full-time graduate student.
