Ms. V. V. Morris is a resourceful professional, experienced in education advancement, advocacy, program research and development, management and evaluation. She designed and led an innovative robotics professional development program for educators in one of the largest school district’s in the country.
Throughout her career Ms. Morris has written multiple grants and secured funds to increase access and educational opportunities for all students, especially underrepresented students, interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.
For several years she collaborated with Dr. Alex Meystel, Drexel University, ME Dept., then at the University of Pennsylvania as a robotics education specialist on special assignment, through an NSF Women & Girls/ Gender Equity grant and fervently Villanova University's ME Dept.
She worked effectively with higher education and industry partnerships to host dynamic exhibits, conferences, and engineering workshops. She also spearheaded regional competitions like: FLL, SeaPerch, BEST, and MATE, in each becoming the first and only African American director/coordinator to date.
Currently an officer/leader of SME Ch. 15, PA STEM Girls Collaborative Project (PSGCP), and a member of AAUW, ASEE, AIAA, and SWE.
